My Favorite Things To Do in Austin, Texas

I first visited Austin, Texas in April of 2021 and instantly fell in love with this city! The food, the people, the endless number of things to do... it instantly became one of the best places I've visited! I loved it so much that I decided to move here in June 2021 and now can't imagine myself living anywhere else.

Since I'm still relatively new to the city, I'm sure some of my recommendations might appeal more to a tourist than someone who's lived here forever! That said, I still hope you enjoy this blog post regardless!

The Peacock or Goldie's at the Austin Proper (Goldie's is hidden off the lobby and is such a secret gem!)
Beez Kneez/Cat's Pajamas (for actually GOING OUT)
Buford's (a much younger crowd, but always poppin'!)
Anything on Rainey Street! Tip: Have your Uber Driver drop you off at Unbarlievable on Rainey Street and just start bar hopping! Great place for day drinking too!

VIEWS / THINGS TO DO

Walk around the shops on South Congress
Go mural hunting
Rent a boat from Retro Boat Rental
Rent a paddle board or kayak and hit up Lady Bird Lake
Museum of Ice Cream in The Domain
Walk around The Domain (outdoor shopping mall, make sure to check out Wonder Bar!)
Go to an Austin FC soccer game
Walk on "The Boardwalk" on Lady Bird Lake
Hit up the Barton Springs pool
Hit up a food truck (an Austin must!)
Have a picnic at Auditorium Shores (close view of downtown skyline!)
Or, have a picnic at Zilker Park! Dogs can be off-leash as well!
