I can't be the only one who instantly romanticized Los Angeles after seeing La La Land... right?! Prior to seeing that film (+ since I had also been raised in a bubble lol), I had only thought of Los Angeles as where Disneyland is.... which I now know this is far from the truth. *face palm emoji* There is so much to do + see in LA, it's hard to even fit it all into one weekend!
If you are traveling to LA for the first time, I recommend squeezing as much in as possible. It's all worth it! If you aren't able to do everything, you might just need to plan another trip!
In this blog, I will be sharing with you the itinerary I created for Matt + I during our first trip to the beautiful, wild city of Los Angeles. Enjoy!
Before planning our trip, I listed my "Los Angeles Bucket List" items, based on what I had seen on social media + television! Here were my Top 5:
1) Take a picture with the Hollywood sign!
2) Eat + drink at a rooftop bar overlooking the city!
3) Hit up the Santa Monica Pier!
4) Check out Beverly Hills!
5) Find a hidden speakeasy!
(For those of you who don't know what this is- a speakeasy is a hidden bar, usually disguised as something else like a sandwich shop where you have to order a certain sandwich, a library where you have to check out a specific book, etc!)
LOS ANGELES MUST-HAVES
Alright the moment you've all been waiting for... here is my romantic + fun itinerary for a weekend in Los Angeles! Please note that we had our vehicle with us during this trip! If you are coming from farther away, I HIGHLY recommend renting a car. LA traffic totally sucks, but all of the tourist must-sees are very spread apart, so taxis + Ubers/Lyfts will add up like crazy.
5:00AM - 11:00AM || Drive from Sacramento to Los Angeles
12:00PM || Drop off luggage at our hotel: we stayed at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live (since this is where my college best friend was working at the time!)
2:00PM - 4:00PM || Hunt down some Instagram Walls
4:00PM - 7:00PM || Check into hotel room + relax by pool
7:30PM - 8:30PM || Have a fancy + romantic dinner at WP24 Wolfgang at the Ritz-Carlton (the Ritz is connected to our hotel, so it's a quick walk over + elevator to the top!)
*VEGETARIAN + VEGAN MENU AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST*
10:30AM - Noon || Brunch at the colorful rooftop restaurant Mama Shelter Los Angeles (the Avocado Toast + brunch drinks are to die for!)
1:00PM - 3:00PM || Hollywood Sign Hikes at Lake Hollywood Park (Tips: make sure to bring snacks + water! Park at the bottom of the hill + walk up to the top to achieve this picture!)
3:00PM - 4:00PM || Window shopping (or real shopping if you're tryna #TreatYoSelf!) on Rodeo Drive (Yes, we brought an outfit change to have in the car after the hike! And you should, too!)
5:00PM - 6:00PM || Dinner in Beverly Hills + drive through the gorgeous neighborhoods! Still drooling over all of the beautiful mansions.
7:00PM - 8:00PM || Check out the iconic Urban Light display (free parking after 7)
YOU MIGHT RECOGNIZE URBAN LIGHT FROM THIS MOVIE!
8:00PM - 10:00PM || Wander, hit up more Rooftop Bars, or head back to the hotel to relax!
5:30AM - 6:15AM || Catch the sunrise at Santa Monica Beach + walk up the pier!
7:00AM - 3:00PM || Starbucks breakfast and drive home!
Thank you for reading my blog "Los Angeles: Our Romantic + Fun Weekend Itinerary!" I hope you enjoyed it + that you have an incredible time when you do visit the city. It truly is a place unlike any other. Matt + I can't wait to go back!
