How to Spend 4 Days in Nashville

why nashville:

If you haven’t been to Nashville yet, you absolutely NEED to go! I have never gone to a city before + instantly felt like it could be home. The people are so welcoming and kind, the food is to die for, + the music scene is unmatched!

I never had Nashville on my bucket list; however, Matt always told me how badly he wanted to go (he dreamt of driving a blue pickup through the countryside like a Nicholas Sparks movie lol). I also had a close friend from college move there + she raved about it as well! So when our two year anniversary began approaching, I decided I would gift him with a surprise trip to Music City!

step one: finding cheap flights!

Flights from California to Tennessee can be crazy expensive. I have an amazing app called Skyscanner that finds the cheapest flights available + also tells you flight price trends. If you don't already have it, download it now! You can also set alerts to notify you when price drops occur. That’s how I found Matt + I two roundtrip tickets for a total of only $500! This is an amazing price given that just one roundtrip ticket can cost that much or more.

TIP: To avoid Matt taking more time off work than necessary, I found as an overnight flight! We drove from Sacramento to San Francisco to take advantage of this cheaper flight deal. Be flexible with your airports.

MY FLIGHT MUST-HAVES

step two: packing!

For me, packing  is one of the most stressful parts of traveling! This is especially true when it comes to traveling to a new destination. This was our first time to Nashville, so I did my research heavily on what to pack for a trip like this in June! I found that finding pieces you can layer and take off throughout the day as well as comfy shoes are key.

WHAT I PACKED

step three: planning our itinerary!

I have always loved planning vacation itineraries! It comes very natural to me + I enjoy researching all of the best accommodations, local restaurants, unique bars, Instagram-worthy photo spots, + tourist attractions ahead of time so we don’t miss any of the action! I also thought it would be a fun surprise to have our best friends, Heidi + "Lil" Matt join us! So, I planned all of our reservations + accommodation for four people.
